VPN for buying AI subscriptions from another country

AI subscriptions can cost very different amounts in different countries. Here is how to compare them safely — and what to watch out for.

Read this first. Some AI services require your payment method and billing address to match the country of the account, and changing region may violate their terms of service. A VPN does not guarantee a lower price. Check the service's terms before buying.

  • The App Store account must be set to that country or region. An existing account can switch only after spending its balance and cancelling subscriptions that block the change; Family Sharing members may have to leave the group first.
  • You may have to add a valid payment method from the new country or region.
  • Apple Gift Cards and App Store Cards can be redeemed only in the country or region where they were bought.
  • Apple's terms make its services available in your country of residence.

  • To set a new Google Play country you must be in that country and have a payment method from it.
  • After a change you have to wait at least 90 days before the next one.
  • Google Play balance stays with the old country, and current subscriptions keep billing the old payment profile until you cancel them.

Step by step

  1. Check the price table and pick a country where the plan is cheaper.
  2. Read the service's terms: some require a local payment method and billing address.
  3. Connect your VPN to a server in that country and open the official pricing page.
  4. Compare the final price at checkout (including taxes) with your home-country price.
  5. If the service or your bank blocks the payment, buy in your own country instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is it legal to use a VPN to buy an AI subscription?

Using a VPN is legal in most countries, but buying a subscription in another region can break the service's terms of service, and some providers may cancel such subscriptions. Always read the terms first.

Will a VPN always get me a cheaper price?

No. Many services price by your payment card's country or billing address, not your IP address. A VPN mostly helps you see local pricing pages.

Which VPN is best for this?

Any reputable VPN with servers in the target country works. NordVPN and Surfshark are popular for speed and value; Proton VPN is a strong privacy choice.
